Inspired by the desert she calls home along with little moments of mindfulness, Las Vegas-based potter, Cathy Calabio, creates functional ceramics out of her small home studio. Occasionally she will create a decorative piece celebrating the female form as she continues to explore the medium of clay. As a second-generation Filipino-American, family
gatherings were often centered around delicious food and live music. Those culinary experiences and memories inform the pieces she creates.
